Void Moon Management

Void Moons

Void Moon Management

Void Moon Management can seem fiddly and over the top but it IS worth it.  Once you begin to speak the language of astrology, the Moon phases begin to flow in your mind. You get into the rhythm of how every month – or lunar cycle – the Moon waxes and wane, conjoins Uranus, Pluto, Neptune – everything actually – and points in your own chart.  By keeping a journal of your dreams and emotions and noting the moon phases, you start to see how you (and others) respond to the different “lunations.”

So a Void Moon can go for a few minutes or a whole day.  It is the time between when the Moon makes her last major aspect in one sign and when she enters into the next sign.  We are going to work through an example of this below but first of all, why is it even relevant?

Well, some say it’s not. Some people don’t give a stuff about Void Moons. Others say they’re only worthwhile in Horary (which Kim Falconer will be showing you how to to later – it’s ancient and rad) where a question is posed and answered by the chart. If you go to a Horary reading and the Moon is Void, it’s like come back later. Or even that the question should not be asked.

Born with the Moon in Void? Some say you’re a witch or more psychically gifted than others.  But the MAIN way to use the Void Moon is to note the lengthy ones and try to work around them. They are not times for starting things, especially rational or business type enterprises. And as they can be weird, it is worth not going with reach-out type impulses at such times.  A rabid confessional rant or debt-fueled sudden impulse spend-a-thon?  Not during the Void Moon.

If schedules permitted – and i don’t know anyone whose schedule does – the Void Moons would ideally be spent bunking off, pottering, doing Tarot/I-Ching/the Oracle, Yin Yoga, Walking Meditation and intuitively driven activity that does not involve reaching out to other people or committing $$$.  It’s almost like if you try too hard during a Void Moon, it goes awry. Calculated conduct can back-fire. But say it’s a Void Moon and realizing that + you can’t concentrate anyway, you decide to go for a walk – serendipity strikes during that walk.  Or your instinct is to turn off your phone and do a laundry/wardrobe sorting bender – that evokes the most marvelous insights. Void Moons are Yin not Yang. Receptivity works fabulously well.

Two other things to consider – particularly with the long ones – are the sign/house it is Void in and the planet it went Void off. So work out WHERE in your chart it is going to be and keep that in the back of your beautiful mind. AND notice that Void Moons where the last aspect was a challenging one are sometimes trickier than the “easy” aspects.

So the Void Moons are always on my Daily Horoscopes at Mystic Medusa but here is how to read them on Astrodienst.

You click on your name or the name of anyone on your list of people there – the Stored Astro Data.

You click on Personal Daily Horoscope and in the Top Left Hand corner you click on “Mundane.”  “Mundane” does not mean “boring” in this context. It means worldly. The Latin term “anima mundi” means the World Soul.  Then you scroll down to Moon – this is just all the daily aspects being made by the Moon – there are usually a LOT which is why you don’t go nuts on these as they are fleeting.

So next to the little Moon symbol, on the 7th line down, it says “voc” which stands for “void of course” and then it has the sign it is void in + how long the Void lasts for.  How do you know which planet it has gone “void off”  – look at the line right above. THAT is the last aspect before the Void – in this case, a square to Uranus. So i would be anticipating a Void Moon that it is not just long and in the most emotive sign of all – the one ruled by the Moon – but with a zany Uranus edge to it.

Some people would be totally busting to bust out of jail with this – or to smash limitations. It’s NOT a good Void to project as the prison guard or imposer of sanctions but rather to go with the emotional candour and distance. This is just in general, before even applying it to anyone’s chart but you get the point yes?

Screen Shot 2015-10-05 at 1.03.37 PM

Looking at the next day, you see the following.

Screen Shot 2015-10-05 at 1.03.58 PM

It’s carrying over the Void Moon entry from the previous day but you can also see how it ends with the Moon in Leo. Note also that only the major aspects and planets are taken into account with the Void Moon. Conjunctions, squares, oppositions, trines and sextile. AND not aspects to Eros or other asteroids. Void Moon Management is Old School.

I have heard – but i cannot remember where – that soulmates meet during Void Moons and that fate is somehow more powerful in this phase. Again, this is more likely if you go with the Yin vibe of it.  Information tends to flow to you in this time.  So don’t sweat the little ones but try to go with the longer ones as potentially Magic Zones.

Would it be significant if the void moon makes three close aspects to your natal chart while it’s void? This one is conjuncting my ascendent, opposing my Mars and trining Jupiter/MIdheaven all at 24 Kataka.

Not really as it is so fleeting! But you could try to zone out a bit and/or do some mind-mapping, try to scare up some random ideas by chilling and tangentially thinking?

This is really interesting, I did not know the moon could be void. I am new to astrology and learning soooo much from your hacks MM.
I have the Voc moon in the 12house crossing my ascendant then into my 1st house in Leo.
Without knowing any of this, I have arranged to spend the next day or so chilling out, being creative and contemplating the mysteries of the universe, bunkered down at home on my own…which never happens..lol.
Love the synchronicity and intuitive nature of astrology.

Don’t pick out new carpet, paint etc for your home- Do look to maintain: filters in furnace, plumping, sweep out corners, address seasonal maintenance etc. Fridge/food purge, weeding so to speak- trash icky cosmetics etc. Toxic waste day in your town? Trips to rehome usable items?

      Hi Scorpiodawn,

If you want a reference for understanding apsects, how to spot them and interpret them, have a look at Aspects in Astrology 101.

Start with just the 0 conjunction, 180 opposition, 60 sextile, 30 semi-sextile, 90 square and 150 quincunx. Those you can learn to spot with the eye, and adjust for the orbs.

After that feels solid, and you get how aspects connect planets to each other, activating each other, then go on to the more “minor” aspects. When they are within a degree or two of orb, they can be very powerful.

      • Reply scorpiodawn October 6, 2015 at 2:27 am

thankyou kimmy…..don’t be shocked by this question..but I don’t actually know what orbs are..?

        • Reply Keith October 6, 2015 at 3:09 am

If you have two planets close to each other, less than 10° apart, they are said to be in conjunction.

Ex: my Mars (0°) & Pluto (2°) are in ‘close’ conjunction whilst my Venus (9°) is at a ‘wide’ conjunction to those two.

          Also applies to other aspects.

Ex: my Kat Sun (27°) is trine my Jup in Scorp (22°) with a 5° difference. That trine is in orb.

          • scorpiodawn October 7, 2015 at 12:44 am

thanks powderfinger! with ur examples above…..do they have top be in the same hse, or can they be in diff parts of the chart?

          • Keith October 7, 2015 at 1:37 am

They can be in differing signs and houses. It is called “intercepted” when that happens.
Ex: My Mercury is 15° Leo in 1H, my 2H starts at 17° Leo and my Uran is 19° Leo in 2H (obviously). Therefore conjunct in Leo but intercepted by 2H starting at 17°.
Another thing to watch for is even tho you may have planets in a trine, as indicated by the sign they are actually in. My KatSun (27°) is actually Square my Neptune in Scorpio (4°). Despite Kataka n Scorpio being Water. That is bcos they are within 7° orb of 90°

          • Keith October 7, 2015 at 1:47 am

Actually l got my Uran n Mercury placements swapped into wrong spot. My bad. Uran in 1H /15° Leo and Merc 2H/19° Leo. Duh!!!

          • scorpiodawn October 7, 2015 at 11:55 am

this is helpful powderfinger. so u wud say ur Uranus is conjunct ur mercury?

          • Keith October 7, 2015 at 2:00 pm

They are 4° apart. So it is an ‘in orb’ conjunction intercepted by 2H cusp. Basically means lm a nut case and bcos its square my Jupiter l channel Basil Fawlty

Great info here on ORBS. Awesome guys!

Just to be correct, we always say the name of the FASTER moving body first. So it’s Mars conjunct Jupiter, Jupiter square Saturn, Moon sextile sun, Ascendant trine Moon, Neptune sextile Pluto . . .

Think of it this ways: Faster body goes first because they are catching up to the slower moving body.

          • Keith October 7, 2015 at 10:17 pm

Ah, So! I was mistaken then thinking the the first planet got named first. so its the faster one first. Ta

The Void moon is crossing my DC – but as per the yin out advice, I always find this highly relevant for void moons. The incommunicado stance for this particular moon also seems incredibly resonant.

I used to have an annual planting calendar that would show the void moon phases. I was all too aware about what not to plant – what not to do. At the time I never really applied it to astrology, or to myself – but thought it was extremely lucid for the garden. Pagan magic.

Small errands- contemplation. Sunday avoided contact/convos after being “on” at school – 11th house music fundraiser Fri/Sat.

    Love VOC Moon time!

Hey nice to see the workings of astro.com a little more in depth…that site is wicked. Have spent many witching hours feeling my way through that place and there’s always something new and cool to stumble upon.

Void moon started with a rousing discussion with friend about selling used panties on the internet for lazy pocket money. Uranus is in my tenth and pinging all sorts of things, mostly favourably – venus/asc/chiron – uranus opposition, saturn, POF, etc. Moon in first house hitting up merc, lilith and mars before going into leo.

Have been slowly getting on to the void vibe thanks to your daily emails, Mystic. Works a charm for really productive restorative time on couch, under blanket, pen in hand. I realllly need to pay more attention to the moon outside my monthly cycle.

  • Reply ICPluto October 5, 2015 at 6:38 am

This lesson is perfectly timed for the current week, since we´re going to have three very long VoC Moon periods.

I have to say I feel more anxious when the Moon is void- not sure if it´s because I am 1st house Kataka Moon. So lately, I´ve been trying to be more diligent about journaling during these void times, trying to follow Mystic´s suggestion of observing house, sign and last aspect in order to create a personal VoC Moon guide. As an example, the current void is happening in Kataka, starting in my 1st house, the last aspect was a square to Uranus- for me, it felt very personal, as I have a natal Moon square Uranus (4th house). I have been dreaming incessantly about my mother! The void ends when the Moon is in Leo in my 2nd house and, I believe, its first aspect will be a trine to Saturn in my 6th house, so I take note of that as a guideline-have some budgeting activities/healthcare paperwork scheduled and will start a Zen Boxing class. I also have a harmonious aspect Moon-Saturn in my natal chart, so the energy is familiar.

I was tired of being a muggle during these void times, failing abysmally by ignoring them. Yes, think about “power bomb” communiqués, shopping for things I didn´t even want, over scheduling myself. Literally, trying to “fill the void”.

I was wondering whether the phases of the Moon influence the void or not.

    • Reply Keith October 5, 2015 at 1:32 pm

Last line; most likely. Nothin random about the astro!

    • Reply Fauness October 6, 2015 at 3:43 am

This sounds perfect. I like the way you notated everything. I do seem to recall that when the moon was in aspect to Neptune recently I felt it hard – natal moon Neptune conjunction. Did you start off by just observing and then trying to plan activities for those days accordingly? That’s how I interpreted it. Sounds like a great idea.

I def need a log with my Mars, Venus, and Jupes all in Gemini. I love having a ton of things going on but being a scatterbrain or stopping things before they really get going is no bueno.

Thanks for sharing in such detail. xx

      • Reply ICPluto October 6, 2015 at 6:15 am

Yes, Gemini rising here- my brain feels like a pinball machine sometimes. So, I need to tie down my balloons for a second and write what´s happening. Without a diary it easily turns into “here today, gone tomorrow” information.

I am trying to plan ahead for the VoC with the sign/house/phase/last aspect approach. Then I do the same thing, noting the first aspect for when the Moon resumes her normal course. I go back to the diary and write down the mood of the day, any dreams, any particular thing I´ve done that seemed to work well or not. Brief notes. This way I hope to have a map to navigate the lunar periods better. I wasn´t born in a VoC either, but my Moon was “Out of Bounds”.

        • Reply Fauness October 6, 2015 at 7:55 am

Do you know of a good moon book or is a journal all I need?

          • ICPluto October 6, 2015 at 9:24 am

Electro, right now, all my notes are in my “astro book”, it can be time-consuming, but I am learning a lot, so I don´t mind the “hard work”. So, I think a journal would suffice. But for the next year I am thinking of buying Jim Maynard´s Celestial Guide Calendar, as there is space for personal notes.

Currently, I´m reading a book I bought secondhand called “The Moon and Everyday Living” by Daniel Pharr. It gives basic but helpful information about lunar influences by sign, for example, how you being Sag Moon would be feeling when the Moon is transiting Gemini.

I always check a website called Lunarium, too.

          • Fauness October 8, 2015 at 6:55 pm

Thank you! Moon books have been on my mental to-do list for a while.

I found the best moon journal too: a techno holographic desert scene notebook from 1991! My aunt had bought it for 30 cents ages ago and then was clearing up a closet and found it and gave it to me for the kids to draw in. It has purple cacti, a yellow and green sunset, and a pink chili pepper resting on a green and blue highway. Like an acid trip!

Am I understanding the void moon correctly ..that we ought to seek to “avoid” (people & external things) during a “void” ?

        • Reply ICPluto October 9, 2015 at 3:45 pm

NeptuneD, I wouldn’t go as far as avoiding people during a void moon. However, right now we’re having a long void and a dark moon, this combination makes it easier to get into volatile situations. The basic rules for the void are: don’t initiate anything that you consider important (interviews, dates, projects), keep your schedule flexible, avoid (big) purchases. It’s more routine, go with the flow, introspective time.

          • Roberta October 9, 2015 at 4:54 pm

Thanks ICP! The last void was bearable, this one is something else.. Rescheduled my weekend for a quiet one – yoga, getting my tax stuff ready for my accountant and generally going through my to-do list. I really had no inclination to be a social butterfly.
Similar to one of the comments above, I feel the void moon is a bit chicken-and-egg i.e. you feel the lunar energy approaching therefore just want to retreat and do your own thing, which is probably the ideal of a void moon.

  • Reply sofoc123 October 5, 2015 at 12:12 pm

Thanks MM I like this hack! I was feeling so lazy and uninspired to do much other than chill at home this last wkend, maybe the void moon vibes were underpinning that. great to know for future to utilize these for yin/reflecting times and going with flow. checking on astro.com and void moon squares my natal sun today….is this like a challenge to my personal ID (libra sun in 8th) from the transiting kataka moon?

Also had an incredibly lucid dream last nite…I was sleeping in my grandmas house (same layout, altho in a different location in the woods and felt like a different time long ago)…i woke up at night with light on hearing a noise at window (3/4 covered apart from small part at top where i can see a handle to open window). i see a saucepan knocking against it and a hand trying to turn handle. i think i’m imaging things and want to fall back asleep and turn light out but a feeling in my gut made me keep staring at window…then a face appeared, a young womans…dark curly hair. eyes are menacing, i start trying to call out mum and scream out but not able to get the words out. cant figure out how old i am, if im my age now (30s) or younger…anyhoo when i start trying to call out the mysterious woman smiles menacingly and then disappears.

Woke up at that point a little freaked out! are dreams more loaded with meaning during void moons? neptune in my 12th conj asc right now too. if so i will investigate the different symbols in there to try and figure out.

Looking at my chart, the VOC from Cancer to Leo occurs concurrently with the change from my second to third houses.

I’m sick today, so I decided to stay home to take care of myself, except for the doctor visit of course. When I’m sick, all I want to do is stay home. So I’m doing Cancer there. Today I started looking into my mom’s family history (Mars itransiting my Fourth too.). As for Leo in the third, once the steroid & antibiotics kick in, I’m grading tons of stuff.

So, essentially, I treat VOC like a planning period. I make lists & try to organize the next few days. I do like the receptive-yin idea though.

  • Reply JodiCleghorn October 5, 2015 at 3:27 pm

I think I’m going to get the tarot cards out. I avoided doing a reading on the new moon because I was terrified of what it was going to show. Less terrified now. And the fridge needs a purge so that’s on the list. And homeschool starts again today.

  • Reply Fauness October 5, 2015 at 3:40 pm

I never forget “dark moon chill”, but sometimes I forget VOC. I am totally ok with putting off shopping and major decisions and chilling out or decluttering/organizing instead.

Current VOC is in my 9th house. Mood hasn’t been too bad but the daydreams… pass the clematis, for real. I’m def going to start tracking the moon and how it affects me. I already know I love Sag moons because I have one. I like to break out my chunky turquoise necklace on those days.

    • Reply Fauness October 5, 2015 at 5:15 pm

Oh, I wonder how this affects my Leo stellium that starts in the 9th?

ICPluto – remember that convo we had about that and how I enter into the Leo stellium via the moon/9th house cancer? Maybe VOC is a different way to approach those energies. Def keeping my spidey senses up for this one.

      • Reply ICPluto October 5, 2015 at 6:20 pm

Electro, I guess the VoC would change the way you’d deal with the transiting aspects of the Moon either by conjunction to your stellium or the Moon acting as a trigger (?) for other current transits to that stellium.

In her normal course, Luna would feel comfortable in the house she rules, and you wouldn’t probably notice any issue other than the general stuff we all feel during this period. However, in her more “demure” approach, perhaps the emotional side/issues of that house would be felt more strongly. It would be interesting to check how it feels when there is a VoC in Sag (your natal Moon) to see if it affects you more personally as well.

If your idea was more in the way the VoC would affect your Moon ruled 9th house stellium, even when she’d be travelling elsewhere in your chart, I’d be more inclined to think your natal Moon placement/aspects would carry more weight on how you aporoach that 9th house. The VoC would be more important, say, if you were born during a void period. Have you checked it yet?

Not sure if it makes any sense, just ideas 🙂

        • Reply Fauness October 6, 2015 at 3:34 am

Thanks, IC. I need to start a journal like you have. I’m pretty sure I wasn’t born during VOC but I should check again.

What you said makes sense and I’m sure it will make more sense with a journal. This Venus retro (on my Leo stellium) brought me books out the wazoo. I have a kombucha log, a notebook for my bath salt recipes, an Astro Hacks book, and coming soon – a moon book.

Last night I finished my homemade kimchi and it felt very satisfying to have my hands all over the vegetables and to start the fermentation process. 2nd house moon. 🙂

This sensitive Cancer void moon is in my 10th career sector, and I don’t think I could be feeling it more today. Work was a real shit-storm all day long, upset after upset. It wasn’t one of those situations either where you could just walk away and come back tomorrow. Everything was urgent, everything was critical, everyone needed everything all at once.

VOC Moon is also squaring my Pluto, sextiling my Moon, and trining my Mercury and Uranus. So lots of moon action.

Perhaps I could’ve worked it better with the right amount of energy, and interest but that just didn’t happen today. Definitely going to take it easy tonight.

On a positive note! I did; however, happen to learn that the moon is in the same lunar phase as my natal moon. I was trying to explore it but work kept rudely interrupting. It’s on my to-do list though 🙂

Moon VoC in 10th house Cancer / to 10th house Aries/ transit Square Uranus in Aries / 7th house. I cant wait… have had a Moonie few days / moon crossed natal moon in 9th house ruled by JUP and NEP /Squared Jup and Neptune transits ( opposite my 3rd house stellium- Sun, Venus, Mars and Merc. , then hopped MC Cancer to oppose natal Jup and Saturn in the 4th house. I know these moon transists are fleeting, but in the last couple days so Emo? easy tears, a few wacky dream visions, foggy self-doubts and a few cloudy head games at home with my partner. I plant by the moon and have always felt sensitivity to the moon intuitively and through studies… I am not certain why, but I will take a moon rest.

I love the void moon and dark moon advice to chill and go yin. It might be the mass of planets transiting my 12th house at the moment, but I’ve just been feeling really inward, rainchecking plans and disconnecting a bit, and focusing on nourishing myself (so what if I have to work until 11 PM, if I can do the work alone in my bathtub with essential oils). It’s a great reminder to wind down.

How do we find out whether our natal moon was void?

    • Reply ICPluto October 6, 2015 at 1:25 pm

I use the Universal Lunar Calendar at Lunarium.co.uk. Put the year and month of your birth, then check the day before and the day of your birth. The VoC is indicated by the arrow symbol- if it points right, it marks the beginning of the void, if pointing left, the end. No arrow-no void.

wow! thanks for that! I was born on a void moon….which makes kinda sense as it’s in the late degrees of Taurus…..also I have it rising, so could this lead to low energy levels I wonder? Always gaining from a good lie down 🙂

Also it was still close to full, a nice big full moon rising in Taurus/void 😉

Zoikes! Just on an idle impulse, I checked and I was born during a void moon too! The moon was void on that day from 4:29 am to 7:28 am– and I was born at 7:15!

Unlike your birthday-moon, Supakali, mine was gibbous, and in Aquarius.

(That should be the beginning of a poem:

          Gibbous in Aquarius,
          The moon, curious,
          grows delirious. . . .

So I thought to myself,”Hmm– I am a witch, or I am very psychic–???? Well, maybe a little, tiny bit– but it would be far more accurate to say that I’m Open to Suggestion.”

So I wanted to learn more about VOC-borns, and I found interesting information on this link:

What is even more interesting is that Hilary Clinton is a VOC-moon in Pisces!

So she’s a Scorp AND she’s a witchy, psychic VOC-Pisces-Moon! I say we just call it a day and make her the President before she goes all “Robin Tunney in Craft” on the USA.

          • Karen October 7, 2015 at 2:37 am

ha, love you poem Sagitta 🙂

thanks for the link – very interesting….some things I attributed to being a Scorp (seemingly non-reactive) and having a Libra stellium (concerned with justice) seem to be VoC Moon traits. Also, non-materialistic, yes! Never knew where that came from before. Go with the flow – also true!

I have had moon calenders and diaries for years and use them to track cycles and patterns for me and also external trends and moods in the collective and I’ve always found it helpful.

I can find voids amazing or weird, grounding or not so depending on the particular void (9th house). I find awareness of the longer ones infinitely useful from the perspective of having a vague out say.. shopping and buying crap I don’t need or want or getting lost in fanciful ideas that I won’t put any further investment into shortly after. But they can crack open portals into other worlds so they’re not all to be regarded with vigilance.

I have had dream diaries (spanning back 255ish) years and intermittently ID’d different cycles for specific dreams particularly those that were more like alternate realities not dreamscapes but I haven’t done a broader reconnaissance of that landscape.

I’m born within a long void moon conjunct Venus and trine Uranus/Pluto and Asc.

Oh dear.. that’s a rather hilarious (?) typo… 25 that I know of this lifetime. Perhaps I do have them going back longer but I didn’t bring them with me this lifetime.

I want to put that on Mercury rets but I’m Mercury rets so my mind oftentimes gets sharper not foggier under a retro often although I find I’m still not immune to all the tech weirding and other shenanigans.

Ok so what I see is the Voc (in leo) is in my 6th house at the moment. I think of Leo as brave, bold, loud and shining and 6th house rules health and tasks.. Interestingly I’ve been fasting over the last day, saying no to coffee and anything sugary. I’ve been eating less – spending money on clothes rather than lunch during my break. And I’ve been feeling hot and in mad admiration of my body! Hahaha

Btw, how do we find out whether we are born on a void moon? Settings via astrodienst? Tips?

  • Reply Catherine October 6, 2015 at 4:30 pm

i find myself so innately influenced by the moon, i have to remind myself to not get too complicate and bogged down by it all.
i use a moon diary, which states the movements of the moon, and let me know when it is VOC and where. now it makes sense! thanks mystic!

  • Reply Ashly October 7, 2015 at 11:42 am

How can you tell if the moon was void when you were born or in other past moments?

    • Reply Mystic Medusa October 7, 2015 at 4:27 pm

See the comment above re Lunarium!

You can also tell from your Astrodienst but it is a bit more complex.

      Lunarium is the easy way!

  • Reply sofoc123 October 8, 2015 at 2:29 pm

Using the Lunarium turns out I have a void moon in aqua…and moon goes into Pisces 10 minutes after birth.

Would this mean I have a blend of aqua and pisces moon tendencies being so close together?

Another thing…I am feeling incredibly irritable this void moon (insomnia, feel intensly restless and a little crazy)…wondering if anyone else is feeling this way, or what aspects might be causing this for me to try and look into (or if not just accept that it is my own crazy and not the planets/moons fault) 🙂

    • Reply ICPluto October 8, 2015 at 3:20 pm

Tridentfox, not crazy, experiencing perhaps Dark Moon symptoms. Anxiety is being magnified by the fuqery of the current astro aspects (gah!). You are not alone! Tonight is lavender on my pillow and Verbena tea to calm down the stomach-churning.

I don´t believe the idea of cusps for planets/luminaries placements is correct. You´re either an Aqua or a Pisces Moon, if your birth time is accurate. Mystic has a post called ” Do Cusps exist?”.

      • Reply sofoc123 October 8, 2015 at 10:13 pm

Thanks IC, so scattered realized it wasn’t even void moon anymore oops…retaining information has been hard. Good to know I’m not alone in the crazy. After going thru astro personal daily transiting moon was opposing my natal moon last nite which could explain the angst. Will check out the cusp angle and try the relaxing tea/journaling thing….wrote a few pages tn and do feel calmer. Thank u again for your help much appreciated!

Visited the Istanbul Grand Bazar during void moon in leo this week (my natal moon is in leo trining neptune & sextiling pluto). We’ve had two children with us (you know, children+pseudo-antique stuff = a whining fest).
I have bought so much more than i was planning to. Bargaining was extreme (i am not good at it, but here i got a stylish, uber-cool kilim carpet travel bag for 1/3 of the initial price and even the owners of other shops said that the end price was good). We never got to see any other sights that day and left the bazar late in the evening. I am super-happy about almost everything I have bought and the children were amusing, enthusiastic and extremely well-behaved.
This was by far the best day of the whole 5-days-long holiday, but we were relaxed (at least at first, haha), flexible and didn’t expect much

Hi Mystic, finally getting to the void moon piece. I checked Astro. com. I got the following:

    Moon void of course (Libra), on 12 October (12 Oct., 7:06 p.m. – 13 Oct., 4:38 p.m.)

So does that mean that the moon is void until 10/13 at 4:38 CST? Since I was born CST the times come up that way.

  • Reply ellen October 13, 2015 at 10:18 pm

The other day it occurred to me that during voids, especially the ones lately I feel like the wacky neighbor in a sitcom..like,”I’m just going to DO THIS LAUNDRY….” and something wacky ensues that let’s me observe something I wouldn’t have seen. I actually fell down laughing I was so surprised during that Virgo void.

My first house was really surprised in time for the dark moon. In great ways.

Are any of the comment pages from the earlier lessons available? I’m getting to things late, and am so confused about a bunch of things. I find the discussion in the comments so helpful. Am I just our of luck now?

    • Reply Sue October 23, 2015 at 2:34 pm

Hiya beebee, yes.. you can get the original hack and the comments page from here:

      • Reply Sue October 23, 2015 at 2:36 pm

But… actually I just noted they’re not all there on my screen right now? They were… Mystic will check that out and sort it I’m sure 🙂

        • Reply Meredith October 23, 2015 at 2:51 pm

Yeah, it appears hacks 1-15 have been converted to PDF, and the PDF files don’t have the comments included – just the hack itself. 🙁

I wondered myself if we’d have eternal access to the comments 🙂

    • Reply Kimmy October 23, 2015 at 2:51 pm

      Hi beebee,

The Hack emails and discussions exercises are kept on the pages for about 6 weeks, then they are compiled into downloadable PDFs for you to keep. All 99 hacks will be handled like this.

Because the comments are so extensive, it’s not practical to compile them for download as well.

It’s like any course you attend live. You get all the reference materials, but the discussions in class are not transcribed.

From now on, cut and paste, or not in you journal, any comments or insights that spark you.

If you have a burning question about any of the previous hacks that no longer have the comments attached to them, ask them in the next relevant hack. If you can’t find a satisfactory answer, email support (link at the bottom of your hack email).

If you have any questions re the hacks I’ve done, definitely email support and they will shoot the Q to me.

So, not out of luck as you have all the reference materials, and you do have this support community, Mystic and me to tap on the shoulder. 🙂

      • Reply Sue October 23, 2015 at 2:55 pm

I just noted the pdfs! Ok.. will download for future resource and have taken note of the insights from comments in my journal along the way. Thanks Kimmy 🙂

I LOVE void moons. I generally track them and other moon info with the “iluna” app on my iphone (not sure if it’s android compatible). However, checking the last aspect before going void to get a sense of its flavor is brilliant. Because I have the luxury/privilege of building my own schedule, I totally plan to ‘bunk off’ during void moons. I go hiking, I read tarot, I play music. I just let myself emotionally, mentally, and physically decompress – which is mega helpful as a person who holds on to massive amounts of energy when not attentively channeling it somewhere.

I have a question. I work with the void moon regularly, always keeping it in mind, planning meetings accordingly etc. But then I realized, there were some periods that felt and acted exactly like moon voids, but weren’t, in a way that everything I initiated on that day came to nothing, as if it was a regular moon void.

And then I read something about a “personal void moon”, and how one could work with that, too. Unfortunately it wasn’t explained, and there isn’t any information on it. Have you worked with it? Could you tell me a little more about it? Or is it a phrase that someone made up?

    Thank you for your help!

    • Reply Astro Hacks November 27, 2017 at 3:26 pm

Great question, Melissa. You can work with personal void of course with any transit. So with the moon, when it reached the LAST degree of a planet in your chart, it goes void for you. For example, if your planetary degrees (of any sign) goes up to 29, your personal void-to-natal will be the same or even after the transiting void. But if your last degree is 15, then your personal void will be before the transiting void, in many cases.

A case example is that Saturn is at 27 Saggo right now and moon in Pisces. When the moon reaches 27 Sa 17, it will go void but if your highest degree planet in aspect to the Pisces moon is 22, you might feel the void 10 hours or more before hand.

      Make sense?

If your chart is in the gallery, we can look together.

PS, there is a great little astro clock that changes color during the VOC period. Have you seen it? http://vega.co.za/

Thank you so much for your answer! Unfortunately I haven’t uploaded my chart to the gallery yet (but it was the first one to be zapped in the “get your chart zapped” feature, so it must still be on there. But does that mean I would have calculate my personal void moons for every sign just once, and then they stayed the same for life? Thanks for the tip with the astro clock! Its so pretty 🙂
