Astro Travel

How can you use astrology to help you find the best place to live or travel?

Astrocartography is a method of Locational Astrology developed by the late astrologer Jim Lewis. It basically shows you the greatest and not so greatest places for you on Earth. It’s like looking at your natal chart on a map!

Want to give it a go? Head on over to Astrodienst and click on Free Horoscopes to find Astro Click Travel. Once there, you can click on any continent you want, or my favorite, the ever-handy Scalable Google Map!

When you select the Map of your choice, you’ll notice brightly colored lines weaving throughout. These are the Planetary Lines. Each line shows where a planet hits on a specific angle in your chart – thus putting the focus on that particular planet.

For instance, find a line and follow it off the map. You should see a planetary glyph and either MC, AC, IC, or DC next to it. These are the angles.

The MC is the Midheaven or the 10th house cusp. So planets that hit this particular angle affect your Career and Public Reputation. AC is your Ascendant, the 1st house cusp. Planets that align here in your chart affect your persona and image. IC is your 4th house cusp and brings planets to your home and domestic realm. DC is your 7th house cusp. Planets here bring energy into your partnership area.

So lets take a look at the Map of North America below. This chart has a lot of planetary aspects here! See that Pink line? That’s Jupiter on the IC. This means this area in the world would be a wonderful place to live! Jupiter, Venus, and the Sun are the BEST lines to travel or live near. But you don’t have to relocate to get the benefit of a line.

John Lennon’s Venus line runs through Tokyo where Yoko Ono is from. So just coming into contact with people from a prominent line is huge! Also, Yoko’s Venus line runs through John’s hometown in England.

Ok, so back to the map below. See how Mars and Sun cross near Denver, Colorado? This is a powerful place where this person can be daring, incredibly self-confident and more of a go-getter! When planet lines cross it is extra potent.

astro_acm_30_ivy.67393.19786Sometimes your best lines are in not so great places or the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Ah, such is life! It’s ok; remember the lines aren’t a magical fix to your problems. And we ALL have those!

Though looking at where the lines fall is great, it’s better to compare with your natal chart and transits. So if you want to travel to say your Mercury line, but natally your Mercury is square Pluto and Saturn happens to be transiting on your natal Mercury, these are helpful to know.

Ok, so Pluto, Saturn, Uranus, and Mars are supposedly “hard lines”. I live on my Saturn line, lived 2 years on my Mars line, and just recently traveled to my Uranus line – which I LOVED. All my GOOD lines (Venus, Jupiter, Sun) land in the middle of nowhere!

Here’s a rundown on planetary lines:

Sun Line is where you SHINE! You have heaps of confidence, creativity, and physically, you can feel really good here.

Moon Line feels homey and comfortable but like the nurturing Moon, you can find yourself taking care of everyone else too. An emotional and sensitive place. The IC line is similar. It is where you feel automatically at home.

Mercury Line is a place where communication rules. A very social place in which you can easily express yourself and your intelligence. Brilliant for writing and writers.

Venus Line is one of the BEST places to be. It’s easy and you’re incredibly attractive here. This line is all about LOVE.

Mars Line is place where you’re full of vim and vigor! You may be slightly hot-headed here but also strong and assertive.

Jupiter Line is an incredibly lucky place! If you have one near you, GO. Also – I may be jealous.

Saturn Line is a place where hard work and responsibility reign. It can feel heavy but also really grounded. This is where you mature.

Uranus Line is fantastic if you are bored or need a change. Life is never dull here, but watch out for your inner teenager to emerge. You can be rebellious here too.

Neptune Line is like a great escape. It’s creative and sensitive but you don’t like to deal with reality here. Perfect vacation!

Pluto Line is INTENSE. Most astrologers advise you not to go here, but I’ve known a few odd souls who love it. Not for the faint of heart! A deep and transformative place.

Chiron Line is healing and one where you’ll be more of a maverick. You will do things differently here than other people. Not to rebel, but to be more authentic to yourself.

The North Node Line is destiny central. These places remind us that the root word of “destination” is destiny, after all.

So where are your lines? Anyone live on a so-called “hard line”?

Which lucky one of you lives on their Venus or Jupiter?!

Let me know!

I live on saturn/mars line and moon line as well – they’re angular in my chart))

but i never really got to any places where other planets get their share of angularity. the closest would be Madrid, Venus/MC hookup for me. I’ll try to get there next spring.

other wonderful (on paper) places would be west coast SF, LA and then Chilean Patagonia. There I would either have Venus, or Sun on the Asc. I really want to go there this or next year.

Great hack. I have been living on my neptune line for over 20 years– I am an artist so maybe there is a relationship there. My daughter was born exactly on her sun line, that’s cool (here in the same city). But now we are talking about moving the family to where my partner is from– near his jupiter line (good!) but on my, and my daughter’s, pluto lines…ugh. (Coincidently our pluto lines run over the exact same place, even though none of our other lines are similar– weird eh?) Will we survive setting up a new life on our pluto lines?

How is Pluto in both of your charts? Well aspected? Anything transiting it??

      • Reply crembert September 4, 2016 at 4:26 am

Hi Rachel, late reply but…my pluto is in libra and un-aspected (and about to be transited by Jupiter– 9º libra). . My daughter’s pluto is near her moon in Capricorn. What does that mean in terms of the astro map?

      • Reply crembert September 4, 2016 at 4:30 am

And I should say, my pluto in libra is in the 2nd house…my daughter’s pluto in Capricorn is the 8th house. Thank you!

Holy crap..ive got black lines crossing (pluto/chiron) with red (mars) over bermuda LOL..now im never going there sigh. My ascendant (orange) and neptune (purple) cross in belize (i had a scary, felt like i was gonna drown incident there years ago..ok never going back.) LOL…really nothing crossing where i’ve lived for over 30yrs. Interesting to see this!

This hack is fascinating! What do the circles around the lines mean on the chart?

Do you notice many ancestral correspondences cropping up, or are these just synchronistic? I see prominent lines/intersections through exact areas where my grandparents were from on both sides of the family.

Is there any significance to the North Node line?

My Chiron and Moon lines intersect right on the town I was born in. And the Moon line travels north (a road trip route I’ve taken often) to my second home of many years in Canada. Themes of both places were helping/healing/teaching others, and deep spiritual growth…now that I’ve moved away I can take better care of my own needs.

My Jupiter and Sun lines are conjunct for a long stretch (because of natal opposition, I assume), running down the eastern/mideastern US…sounds like a powerful place to be. My partner has a Sun line around there as well.

    Moon-Neptune lines intersect right on Reno of all places (it’s a smaller Las Vegas). Never going there!! Also Chiron-Pluto in the middle of Alaska doesn’t sound like a great time. Maybe when I become an ultra-hermit. :}

    • Reply LeoRisingCancerSun August 24, 2016 at 9:02 am

The small circle on the line indicates the place where the planet is in the zenith. This is where the maximum of this line effect is felt.

      • Reply Nia August 24, 2016 at 9:38 am

        Thanks, I just noticed that on the side bar info too. :}

    • Reply rachel h August 24, 2016 at 2:26 pm

Hey Nia- Yes! I think the line are pretty significant in some way. Maybe not ancestral for everyone, but important nevertheless!

Well my Venus line runs all the from Finland to Morocco taking Brussells, Cologne, Paris & Madrid in on the way!!!
Golly, my love life could have been a lot different.. 😉

Instead I seem to live in currently and avoid generally all lines at all times – despite having lived in various countries over the years.

Sorry – I see now that we don’t calculate by looking at lines – Astrodienst does it for us if we press on the location we are interested in?

If so I am living on my Venus-Jupiter line. No wonder I came back to my home city!

I live right between my Pluto and Saturn line for past 5 years. These 5 years have been some of the most intense, transformational, and maturing EVER. I also did my first Saturn return here (unknowingly…rather astrology entered my life in the middle of it and then things became somewhat easier). The Sat return was packed with panic attacks, fainting, alcohol abuse, relationship drama, broken bones and lots and lots of skin and ego shedding. My natal Pluto is 29 deg Libra and Saturn 9 deg Scorpio. (Natal Mars is also 16 deg Sorpio)

    • Reply Meredith August 24, 2016 at 9:43 am

My boyfriend moved from his Saturn line (of 10+ years) into his Pluto line about 4 years ago. It really seems like a tough break. His Pluto/Saturn lines are very close like yours. His natal Saturn is 5° Scorpio, and Pluto 29° Libra. I know he’s going through a lot of personal/internal issues presently. While on the outside he’s doing well, I know there is a lot going on beneath the surface. There’s not really a clear or good opportunity for him to relocate anytime soon (but definitely in the future). I suppose he should just not resist and go with it, and use this time to really understand himself on a raw level, dig in and do the work. What are your thoughts?

      • Reply rachel h August 24, 2016 at 2:29 pm

Maybe when Uranus hits 29 Aries it will liberate him from that area?

Wow!!! I have a (solo) retreat planned in a little over a month into Sedona, AZ – for energetic renewal, and at the turn of my Progressed rising into exact 0° Scorpio. AstroClick describes this location to be on point for improving physical energy and will power. AstroClick calls this “Crossing Mars IC/Jupiter AC, 3384 km”.

Question: I’m curious how these points that are not directly on lines are calculated, Rachel. Thoughts?

Presently I am living on my Merc IC line, almost directly, which appears to be about working through unfinished business, and concentrating on private life – planning and assessing resources. It states job-related projects should be avoided due to perception being subjective and colored by emotion. This makes so much sense, given the struggles I’ve had in work since I’ve moved here. The work flow has been steady, luckily, but the interaction/exchange has been emotional and rocky (and may be contributing to my current health condition).

Just at quick glance I clicked my Jupiter/AS line, and evidently it is “without a doubt, one of the best and most pleasant places to stay in terms of the global horoscope. Self-confidence, enjoy, trust, faith in other people, Optimistic, freedom, Loyalty, etc.” So evidently I should move to Burlington, VT. My boyfriend’s AstroClick marks this very city as a great place for him as well. He would find support of his ambitions, and like-minded individuals, and an understanding about the meaning and purpose of this earthly existence – On his Moon’s Node/MC Line.

If I were rich and could do whatever I wanted, it seems like Iceland (Venus AS Line) is the place I could live out my life and enjoy all of the earthly pleasures (food, arts, and everything). This place bodes well for my partner, too – and would be treated “seriously and held in high regard” (his Sun AS Line) goes right through.

Then it looks as though I should retire in Melbourne, Australia. It says here that on my Moon’s Node/IC Line, will discover hidden layers of the soul, full of feeling, appreciate comfort, and discover the meaning of a domestically reclusive existence. Interestingly though, my partner still has some searching and living do to in this location. While it’s positive it’s not the same settling feeling that I would have.

Couple questions: How about when the delineations do NOT resonate at all? Does it mean that I might relate later in life, or just that the delineation is not as relevant as it could be? Does it have to do with natal placements (interference) that astro.com is not taking into account?

Thank you so much for this hack Rachel (&MM Team), so much to absorb, I could get lost for days/months going on a mental journey with this stuff.

Looking forward to reading everyone’s comments on this.

    • Reply rachel h August 24, 2016 at 2:35 pm

So this is when you have to go further into it Mermade. Take a place that you don’t think resonates and do a relocation chart. This way you may see that Venus sure enough is on an angle, but Saturn is doing something you don’t like…

Also run transits. Are the transits at the time of being there harsh? Maybe they’ll be “nicer” later on?

Nothings easy in astrology, huh? lol! = )

      • Reply Meredith August 24, 2016 at 4:38 pm

        It’s so complex, I love it ^^

Would you say that for the harmonious vs. disharmonious aspects on one city or general area, that closer orbs would give more weight? Or even like you say above, transits could make all the difference?

  • Reply ICPluto August 24, 2016 at 10:52 am

This is super fun to do. It’s the astro version of the world is my oyster.

I currently live on my Moon/ASC, NN/MC line. It is emotionally draining at times, as I’m natally a 1H Cancer Moon. I guess the NN/MC means I have to “walk this walk”, though.

Best life experience was on my Mercury/MC line. I am Mercury ruled. Always felt people in this place got me. I also feel more light and independent there.

I got my university degree on the Saturn/MC line. That says it all, doesn’t it?

I spent my childhood on my Venus/Saturn/DSC line. Somehow feeling I would never be accepted. I have natal Venus conjunct Saturn.

40 years later, my last work assignment sent me to my Venus/Saturn/ASC. I had a déjà-vu feeling of my childhood place, but it being upside down. I liked the experience, as I was older (hello, Saturn) and well-regarded.

Worst place ever so far was on my Saturn/IC, Moon/DSC line. C*ck-blocking, passo-aggro place!

Curiously, the most expensive place I’ve ever lived was on my Venus/ASC line.

Checking the N. America map, I’d be moving to Amarillo, Texas to be on my Jupiter/DSC line or to Salt Lake City, Utah, to be on my Sun/ASC. Well, never say never, but I don’t think so!

Out of curiosity, I checked Australia, just in case we end up having a Mystic Medusa Astro Hack “class of 2016” reunion. Australia for me is all Pluto, Uranus, Chiron and Moon. Oy! Canberra is on my Chiron/IC line – ouch! Better go to Sidney on my Uranus/MC. Brisbane is on Pluto/Moon/ASC line and Melbourne Pluto/MC.

    • Reply ICPluto August 24, 2016 at 11:01 am

*Sydney* – apparently, not very strong Mercury there for me, as I can’t spell. 🙂

      • Reply rebel August 24, 2016 at 6:16 pm

lol. I’ll totally come to the astro hack class of 2016 reunion! And not just because Australia seems like one of my happy places.

My only Saturn (MC) line—and zenith, no less—is in Australia, so I’ll pass on that reunion! ;} But I’d totally be there in spirit.

  • Reply Rika August 24, 2016 at 1:10 pm

This is a great hack!! Observations, my current partner’s hometown (where his parents live in Florida) is right along my Pluto line. Additionally my Pluto line runs nearby Barcelona and Paris, 2 of the places I went on my last trip to Europe, with my ex. Pluto lives in my 7th house so this seems appropriate. Several years ago I was in China doing an acupuncture internship, my Chiron line runs near the city where I did that internship. I was born and live near to my Mars and Jupiter lines.

    • Reply rachel h August 24, 2016 at 2:37 pm

this is a GREAT example of Pluto Rika! Thanks!

    • Reply sphinx August 25, 2016 at 5:02 pm

That is helpful Rika, thanks for sharing!
Now I can see how my living on my Jupiter line is helpful to my spiritual leanings, given that my Jupiter is Pisces/9th on MC.

  • Reply rebel August 24, 2016 at 1:24 pm

YAS, the astro travel chart on AstroDienst! I lived at the intersection of my Saturn and Pluto lines for years, but it was also weirdly next to my Jupiter-MC line. Saturn + Pluto = extremely difficult experience with my first job out of college, and getting my contract non renewed. This was the first time I had ever tried something and failed so hard at it. A transformative experience. Then, I went to graduate school nearby and had a positive experience – still hard work and a transformative experience, but much more Jupiter/MC for me.

Now I live on my Neptune/DS line, go figure. Well — nobody who moves to NYC to be an artist is ever accused of being realistic.

    • Reply rebel August 24, 2016 at 3:14 pm

I’ve never done the scalable google map before, and now I can’t stop. My moon/mars/venus conjunction meets the MC in Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Papua New Guinea is my sun place, I meet Saturn in Fiji, my Chiron is at it’s zenith in Chad, and my North Node is strongest in Senegal.

It’s like a strange divination poem. PS I’ve been lots of places, but never these. I so wish I had this when I was backpacking and studying abroad in my 20s. This is how I’ll choose destinations from now on!

      • Reply Meredith August 24, 2016 at 4:40 pm

Yes, scalable map is so addicting! I’ve been coming back to it all day long.

        • Reply rebel August 24, 2016 at 5:40 pm

Do you find that places where your lines intersect or hit their zenith (the circles) are places you were already drawn to?

My fiancé wants to go to Madagascar for our honeymoon or another trip in the near future. Turns out that’s where his Venus line is! Saturn intersects there as well.

I have major intersections in Colorado (the Pluto-Saturn-Jupiter place I was talking about). I’ve been sort of “called” there twice for different reasons.

          • Meredith August 24, 2016 at 7:18 pm

            How cool.

There is an interesting intersection in Japan, which I’ve always wanted to travel to. Uranus DC, crossing over Saturn and Sun.

Most of my Zenith’s are in the Ocean, almost all of them in the Indian Ocean! The rest are in Africa. I’ve never been drawn to Africa but there’s still time I suppose.

I backtracked to my early 20’s when I dated a guy in England for 3 years (on and off), and the city he lived in/areas we traveled happens to be where my Uranus AC crosses my Moon MC. It was all a pretty spontaneous and emotional decision to up and leave the country to meet a guy you barely knew but were so connected to that it was #worth it.

          • rebel August 24, 2016 at 7:48 pm

So interesting; thank you for sharing. Uranus-Moon sounds spontaneous, maybe a little erratic – but inspiring! You should definitely travel to Japan someday.

Oh wow! I love this! I was just looking into this a few days ago! How cosmic.

My partner and I live in Wellington.
I have Neptune and DC going through it and my partner has Venus and MC going through it.
So from this I get the idea that I have a spiritual and creative connection with Wellington but perhaps also an idealistic and delusional one. I do love Wellington very much – I think it’s a city with a soul.
For my partner (who also adores Wellington) I get the idea that it is great for his career (he’s always been very lucky with his career here) and it accentuates his beauty and gives him a real sense of love and pleasure – this Libran boy with his attitude that ‘life is a perpetual cocktail party’ fits so smoothly into Wellington as he absorbs the craft beer and coffee culture the way a sponge absorbs water.

My AS and Moon runs through Italy and when I was there for a month I had to most intensely peaceful and wonderful experience, just being me, exploring. I did feel more self aware and in tune with myself there. Not that I feel out of kilter in Wellington, no – I just sometimes feel like I’m a floating lost ghost that observes and admires things from a great distance – this be good ol Neptune influence methinks.

  • Reply Sue August 24, 2016 at 10:35 pm

Neptune DS line approximate here. Not much else around. However after I added the neg/pos aspects and crowed the whole image up it would seem that one potential relocation consideration is on Jupiter trine/sextiles MC line. Interesting….

This would also be my partner’s Mars trine/sextiles AS which seems slightly less intense than the Mars/AS line which is probably good.

I was just browsing and noted Portland.. a place for some reason that invokes some interest and I imagine it to be a creative hub. Anyway, it’s my Moons Nodes/MC line. That made sense to me.

    • Reply Sue August 24, 2016 at 10:40 pm

And.. one of his fave places in his years and years of travel was Canada. Whilst I can’t recall the specific places I noted his Mars/AS line runs through there and intersects with Moon/DS line.

My gf lives in Bris and it goes over there too. Her SunIC line is exactly over Bris which is freakish. It is where she wants to be despite family pressure to go back to her home country. Holy crabcakes!!

I lived bang on my Pluto line for a year, surrounded by spectacular scenery (B.C Canada) and wonderful people and couldn’t for the life of me figure out why I was feeling so reclusive, depressed and unable to stop the intense naval gaze scenarios!!! Was also the poorest I’ve ever been despite working full time. And make that a double shot of Pluto since he was trolling my sun exact in the seventh house (Cappy) at that time. I had a strange illness for five months when I was there – a lot of pressure and pain in the head which doctors couldn’t pinpoint as being related to any physiological cause. When I moved to another country the pain went away. Also went from having a set of teeth that needed no dental work to all of a sudden needing an extraction and thirteen fillings whaaaat??? It wasn’t all bad though, I had my first major break into the art scene while living there. I never thought to look into astrocartography!! I’ll make sure Pluto is in a more positive aspect before landing in B.C again 🙂

Currently living right on my Chiron line (India), and am coming to the tail end of six months of glorious yoga, meditation, sleeping in and eating coconuts and mango smoothies. Maverick indeed – I was living in this same spot a few years ago and the dance parties I painted at (and danced at) were happening on a weekly basis. Ohhhh yes 🙂 This time around I’ve been pretty unproductive on the art front but perhaps I needed the break.

I have a serious portal of lines all mashing together where Russia meets the border of Finland, both places I’ve previously not been attracted to. Might save that one for when it’s going to be sunny up there brrrrr bone deep cold is not my favourite flavour.

I’m a Cancer & was born on Moon/MC line – & i have Moon/MC conjunct natally….. I still go there to my hideaway mountain shack – my Fortress of Solitude.

The 2 most fun & inspiring cities i’ve stayed in are Madrid & New York – both on my Venus/Jupiter crossing – fantastic art & crazy friendly people..

Another fabulous city where the zeitgeist zapped & where I held 3 jobs, studied & my work took off is London – on the Mercury line.

A harsh place i lived at as a kid for 3 yrs & encountered violence & where i turned combative – is on the Mars line.

The most interesting place for spiritual growth & where i lived at for 3 yrs was on the Uranus/Neptune crossing. Truly life changing & mind expanding with inter dimensional travels & all. The description of this on the sidebar is spot on.

A place in India where i did some higher mind & language studies & met many people from around the world was on the Mercury/Jupiter crossing.

The only time i had a depression in my life was in an Asian city which is on the Chiron/AS crossing – admittedly Neptune was ON my IC & opposite my moon at the time. The way i coped was by literally staying in my cave (dark room) like Chiron, for 3 weeks.

    There’s more but i’ll stop.

I forgot to mention that i live on my Neptune line which indeed feels like a great escape – which is why i regularly have to go to my Mercury line for work and my Moon line for emotional sustenance.

Now I want to know about Astro locations for camps like the one from the Great Escape! Isn’t that Steve McQueen? Imagining now a group is incarcerated but those that escape have charts that work with the environment finding the way out? Certainly makes reality feel like a great holographic virtual reality game with those parameters.

I work on my Neptune line and l truly can’t get anything done. I am strongly Nep and it is suffocating me. I gotta go to my Sun Asc line.

        • Reply Rosa-Lina August 26, 2016 at 1:15 pm

Your Sun Asc Line is my Sun IC Line, I think. Mine runs from the Sunshine coast down along Northern NSW – pretty apt for a Sun Line 🙂

          • Powderfinger August 26, 2016 at 9:47 pm

            Amazing stuff

I can’t get over how my Sun Asc crosses her home country, as small as it is, and and continues to neatly intersect her Sun IC; over the very suburb of Bris she lives in.

What town did ya come from (if that is not too a revelatory question)?

          • Rosa-Lina August 27, 2016 at 6:35 am

I lived in many places between the Sunshine Coast & Byron during 20 years, with a major stint in Brisbane – & i’m as much from there as i am from my birth place which is not there 😉
That is pretty serendipitous re your/her Sun Line, Pf.

          • Powderfinger August 27, 2016 at 4:00 pm

            Ah n ta.

    • Reply sphinx August 25, 2016 at 4:55 pm

This is really cool. I am really interested you feel the resonance of the lines. I always have felt different due to ..life eg health issues as a teen, to a lack of good relationship modelling at home etc. Given I live in my Jup/Venus line, I dread to think how life might compounded that feeling of isolation if I had lived on my Mars line given what you say.

Natal chart + Astro location seems part of the destiny bundle in a way I’ve not explored or considered before..

      • Reply Rosa-Lina August 26, 2016 at 12:58 pm

Maybe in our youth (for some of us), there are too many other dynamics happening to let the more subtle positive vibes of the astro location affect us. My memories of living on my Sun line are pretty negative because of a difficult home life with my parents. I couldn’t wait to get out. I´ve been back a few times since then & feel very relaxed there now – it is Southern Qld/ Northern NSW after all – it would be a shame not to like it.

        • Reply sphinx August 26, 2016 at 8:11 pm

Yes it would! My post kids school life suburbs plan involves northern NSW, it is a really exquisite place in the world.

But oh.. Your comment made me think about my dear bro and how painful his life in our home city was, how he never left it and I wondered what impact this Astro location could have for him?

And, he was born, lived and died on a Saturn/Pluto line… My Venus/Jupiter was his Saturn/Pluto. *sigh*

If only I could go back in time and Astro relocate him to a happier place, perhaps it would have changed things? Or perhaps this was always his destiny. 🙁 jeez I feel a bit maudlin now.

          • Rosa-Lina August 27, 2016 at 6:06 am

Yes, that old “destiny” conundrum … & Saturn/Pluto involved too … Dear Sphinx, as you often say, there is a Big picture in which we are all partaking – and in which your brother is weaving his many beautiful golden hued rays – while in this life he was/is weaving shadow & depth for a richer perspective into our creation.

I also think it is healthy for everyone to leave their place of birth for a while, for various reasons. Main one is perspective. It can awaken our senses & allow us to see that it can be much better for our growth somewhere else. OR it can help us appreciate our birth place even more so & which allows for a deeper purpose & meaning to enter our lives.

Anyways hon, here’s {{hugs}} to you & don’t be maudlin for too long. ..such a strange sad word.

Actually i just checked for origin of “maudlin”, and it stems from Mary Magdalene (!) & from a sense that derives from seeing pictures of her weeping…Weird that there’s even a name for that.

          • Rosa-Lina August 27, 2016 at 6:41 am

actually not weird if that was the intent, i guess…..sorry for the digression into semantics. I’m obsessed.

          • sphinx August 29, 2016 at 1:12 am

Thank you Skarab that was so beautifully expressed, it lifted my spirits. 🙂 No need to apologise that is FASCINATING! I am also interested in etymology and that is one unusual word. A feeling from seeing pictures of a weeping acolyte/beloved who has passed? Just wow.

  • Reply krs3 August 25, 2016 at 9:38 am

I just fell for a man from a country where Venus is on my IC. No wonder!

  • Reply Electro August 25, 2016 at 7:27 pm

I live near my Chiron/DSC line. Does that mean my t-square is forever activated by painful relationships?

I’ve travelled to my Uranus MC line and my Chiron IC line, both lovely and fun experiences. Many of my lines are in places I’ve never been to or just passed through. Too many in the Oceans and Russia, unfortunately.

If a person from a particular line could be kismet for you, could water from a particular place have the same effect? I have multiple lines in water, and with the way water gets around, I’m wondering if it has an impact. I have Scorp rising, Moon Neptune, NN in the 12th, and I am from a family filled with Katakas. I need to take baths at least once a week, drink primarily water since the age of 13, feel soothed by listening to babbling brooks & etc. Just a thought.

    • Reply Rosa-Lina August 27, 2016 at 7:17 am

Wow, i love this. I’ve just been reading loads of stuff on water memory & DNA. I’m a little obsessed with water (Kataka) and have asked the same question. I do believe in water memory & I’ve always collected water from springs in the places i love so that i can be “in” that place & let it work it’s magic when i drink it, lol. Also no water = no DNA. And there’s water in space older than our sun ffs! Could rave for hours, but must fly.

      • Reply Electro August 27, 2016 at 4:31 pm

Cool! I took a flower essence class and it totally next leveled my thoughts on water, and plants of course. I’ve been thinking about sending blessings to the water fountain in my classroom so when the children get drinks, they get some water magic. Hey, why not.

        • Reply Rosa-Lina August 27, 2016 at 5:02 pm

That is a great idea. Why not indeed? The Catholic church has been blessing water for centuries…. But WWNDT say about this? 😉

        • Reply sphinx August 29, 2016 at 1:16 am

Yes to baths – with crystals!
Also I have a friend who blesses her refrigerator and all food that passes through it – rather than an individual meal, lol! Imagine attempts to say grace, met with “already done it!”.
I think it is interesting that we give thanks rather than invest our food with power. How much knowledge every day folk have lost over time..

Ps I stick crystals in my water filter 😉 cheers to water magic!

I moved to a city very near my Chiron line when I was a teenager and have been here since. It definitely allowed me to be more myself and I’ve bounced between being student and teacher over this time. I also grew much stronger and more well rounded. Chiron trained warriors right?

    • Reply Electro August 27, 2016 at 4:33 pm

I live near my Chiron line too, I’ve never quite been able to leave. But the power seems to come from staying, I hear ya. Chiron trained warriors… I like that.

  • Reply Emma August 30, 2016 at 4:17 pm

Does the line have to right through the town or is being in the general area good enough?

How specific is it? Is there like an ‘orb of degree’ ?

    • Reply sphinx August 30, 2016 at 4:23 pm

I was a bit confused by this but we don’t need to calculate by looking at lines – Astrodienst does it for us if we press on the location we are interested in.

But I would like to know if there is an intensity factor too!

I am catching up on a ton of hacks, and I wish I wasn’t so late to the party on this one. This is such an eye opening hack; I am blown away by the synchronicity of these maps!

I have lived my entire life with Uranus/ASC (with natal Uranus bang on my ASC) — “As you are open to all sorts of stimulation, you become pre-occupied with unusual philosophies, esoteric knowledge and may even commence a study in astrology.” Why yes, yes I may. 🙂

I used to travel extensively throughout the U.S., and the other significant location in my life is a crossing Sun/Chiron DC/MC location – so incredibly appropriate to that location and connection!

Another mind blowing part of this exercise was looking at my soulmate’s map, and seeing his Saturn/MC Zenith smack dab on the location he was assigned to in South America last year, which is also a return to his birth country. (There are some Venus crossings in the same area, and Venus square ASC right through the city as well – I’m not sure if that bodes well for us long term or not. We are not currently together — I’m not sure if this move and experience will turn him back towards me, or towards someone else altogether.)

Ironically, his current location and Saturn Zenith is actually a lovely Sun Sextile for me, with a nice Moon/IC in the same region. Hmm, who knows.

In the meantime, I am going to continue to have fun musing about some of my future travel locations! 🙂

I live directly on my Pluto line.
I was born here with Pluto conjunct my MC.
I have attracted powerful people but have also experienced many situations where my mere presence seems to threaten people. I can seem to see to the core of people; see true truth & where they come away from it.
They seem to be able to sense this.
I’ve moved away a handful of times but have often returned for various reasons. It hasn’t been easy to leave for good, but I’d dearly love to.
I had a life reading with a high priest in Bali who said “You live a life of deadly moments. You have high sensitivity power & because of this many try to destroy you”
Not the cheery reading I was hoping for bit it certainly puts my highly unusual life experience of living on the Pluto line, in perspective.
FYI: No I wouldn’t recommend living on one’s Pluto line.
For a once in a lifetime transformational retreat, sure, risk it. But preferably don’t walk the streets alone at 3am perhaps!

Living on the Pluto line IS powerful but it’s like being burned alive on a daily basis. It actually feels scorching & scathing. And for me anyway, too much to bare on an ongoing daily basis.

I live on my Pluto MC line too, apparently. And the other city I’ve moved to, twice, is on the Pluto MC line as well. I was born with Pluto conjunct Sun on the MC. I have wanted desperately for years to move to the Bay area of California and, guess what, my Venus line is there.
