Signs Of The Zodiac

Nurturing Your Leo

What does it mean to have the sign of Leo Rising or in a particular house (or sector) of your birth chart?

The house that is dominated by Leo or has Leo on the “cusp” is where you are automatically idealistic, artistic and poetic. You don’t WANT to be pragmatic or grounded there. It is where you are a fabulist and a story teller.

When Leo is Rising, you display all this in your look. It’s important to you that your very appearance has an impact. See here for some examples of Leo Rising vibe.

The House where you have Leo is where you are competitive and hyper-aware of rivals, even though of COURSE you strive also to be most noble and utopian in this area.

It can also be where you are either keen for recognition and to be SEEN or you just dial it down completely.  The old “if i can’t compete at Wimbledon, what’s the point of me even learning tennis” self-limiting Leo syndrome.

The Leo part of your chart is where “normal” or “functional” is not enough – you want fuq-off-amazing or nothing.   To nurture the Leo part of your astral energies, be aware of this aspect of it and that any realism directed at that area of your life is at least ‘magical realism’.

But resist Dark Sun Leo energy where you actually suck in light and radiate out only darkness, so disappointed at the options of reality that you power down your own light.

The saving graces for where-ever you have a disappointment or reality check in the Leo area of your chart?  Humour and Creativity.

I love this. I have Leo 3H and am a fiction author. Perfect! And 5th (Leo-ruled) House stellium. “automatically idealistic, artistic and poetic … a fabulist and a storyteller” yes yes yes

Leo rules my 2nd house. Its either gourmet 5 star luxury or two minute noodle level. No in betweens so true lol!

so same, leo ruling 2nd (see below) and I’ve never thought about this before, but I usually either will literally eat the first thing I can slap together, or very mindfully and consciously spend like, literally hours preparing my meal. Magical herbs and all that. I put off eating frequently too–and often don’t even notice I’m hungry until I’m like famished (having a “food now” moment, lol).

This relates to the recent years long Pluto through my 6th transit, and now Saturn transiting the 6th–with my Mars/Venus in the 2nd I often relate to the idea of the body as the prime resource–and yeah, I also have had a pattern of going back and forth with self care and nutrition–full blown veg organic to like just whatever I can eat/dumpster diving, lol

I have Leo 10th house and work in the fine art, and music industry. I run my own social media mgt company and represent other artists/musicians.
I do prefer to be my own boss.
Chiron is lurking in my 5th House. Trying to grok/transmute that energy through my art.

I have a couple of friends who are Leo-rising (exact birth times and window for error all considered), and although I can totally see the Leo, they don’t. So they don’t think they have a regal vibe or are appearance-conscious. I find it really funny, is this a thing? The one has sun-mercury-mars in Cancer.

Leo rules my 8th house, I need to do some more reflecting on what that means for me.

My boyfriend’s 8th is also ruled by Leo but he has Mars in there too, he can be the most mild-mannered, sweet, helpful, unassuming guy with mostly all air and water placements (Sag-rising, Libra sun, Aqua moon) but he literally “rawrs” at me when we’re fooling around and is very competitive with sports. He also has strong opinions about his family’s properties/inheritance issues and about how his employers run their businesses, so the “other people’s money” is there for him.

6th house–work and heath–this make SO much sense!

    This reallyyy resonated:

The old “if i can’t compete at Wimbledon, what’s the point of me even learning tennis” self-limiting Leo syndrome. (Or for me, it’s I don’t win a Oscar, what is the point of even making films?) LOL– you want fuq-off-amazing or nothing.

LOL I’ve had more than one partner who “purred” at me (checks charts…)

Haha, there must be some fire in those charts!

“… where you are automatically idealistic, artistic and poetic. You don’t WANT to be pragmatic or grounded there”

    2nd house cusp LOL AHHH
mars, south node, and Venus all in the 2nd in Leo

I totally go from having like no money to experiencing (seemingly) random bursts of good material fortune–while employed at sex shops, I frequently won sales contests, and thus have a ridiculous collection of fancy sex products–like, a SERIOUSLY ridiculous collection. My sister has commented that I “don’t care about money,” which has been in a sense accurate–I often need to have an idea in my head of what actual thing/experience I am going for before the money comes in for it.

Sun and mercury are in the first house in Leo–Kataka rising though. Typical shy cat vibe–more so in childhood and adolescence. People have commented that they were surprised to discover I am actually a pretty loud person, LOL, as I can seem fairly quiet at first/at times. Moon in Aries too–conjunct MC and trine sun/mercury. My “all or nothing” tenancies I have actually related more to the Aries vibe–interesting to think about it as a Leo characteristic.

I have ‘difficult’ Leo. It rules my 10th house and includes my sun, MC, Saturn, and Mercury. Sun in the 9th and the apex of my angular t-square. I have a lot of nervous tension and I’m always working to improve. I crave stability yet I’m squashed by the pressures. I teach 8 year olds – awesome when I am in a place of dramatics and creativity but mostly totally bogged down with the tedious aspects. I’m open to changes but nothing on the radar yet.

I’d love some advice for a repressed leo. Seriously. I’m so self conscious (damn it Saturn) but I do as much as I can to shed and grow.

self conscious Leo vibe is terrible, LOL–

My theory is that Leo vibe is really just so all about life, joy, fun etc. and so being like, self conscious/depressed/whatever SEEMS all the more objectionable, and we just feedback loop from there–“WHY do I FEEL like this?! AHHHH.” Something like that.

I ALWAYS feel better when I am just doing, creating, etc–even if it doesn’t turn out to be like, my best work–any creative outlet serves–it drives away the blues, the inner critic, etc.
